I feel like a dope. I came across what I thought to be a cool and easy missional project for our community for Christmas — Operation Christmas Child. So I went on the website, ordered the materials and passed them out on Sunday only to discover afterwards that today is the last day for the pick-up. In the words of the great theologian, Homer Simpson, “Doh!”
Thanks for playing. Please try again.
Oh well. Fortunately, Kerri did her homework and has given us another good opportunity — Santa Claus Inc. They are local and should be a great chance for our family and community to serve.
Don’t feel bad. You are moving us toward mission. We’ll get there eventually!
very funny! (about the Operation Christmas Child deadline)
seems that is always happening here. LOL. I got this idea of passing out post cards with batteries attached for the Daylight savings time change to help people remember to change their smoke alarm batteries. simple enough. for weeks I collected packs of AA batteries every time I went to Walmart. Got home made a beautiful card on the computer. printed out enough. Hot glued the AA batteries to them and put them in my basket to carry to my neighbors.
DID ANYONE CATCH THE MISTAKE SO FAR?
Somehow the delivery date got rescheduled and delayed. It wasnt until my husband was looking thru the house for a 9 volt battery for a monitor that all the LIGHT BULBS in my head went off.
NINE VOLT BATTERY?…smoke alarms dont take AA batteries!!
HOW DISAPPOINTING TO RIP ALL THE AA BATTERIES OFF THE LOVELY POSTCARDS AND TOSS THE CARDS AWAY!
God? give me YOUR ideas! and YOUR timing!
