Birthday Cupcakes

So Debbie and I have been up all night (with Michael and Catherine’s help) making “popcorn” cupcakes for Chris to take to class in the morning. Actually, the “popcorn” is made of mini marshmallows cut into quarters and then squished back together and then “glazed” with muted yellow food coloring to imitate butter.

It’s 1 am on Sept. 10, 2007. Today is Christopher’s 8th birthday.

Update: I went to bed around 1:15. Deb stayed up past 4 am finishing the cupcakes and making a birthday banner to greet Chris when he came downstairs in the morning. What a great mom!

  1. Thanks for the kind words Jason, and thanks for all of the help that you gave me. I never would have gotten any sleep if you, Michael and Catherine did not help me. Who knew that making marshmallows into popcorn would be such a time consuming endeavor??

Faith- Thank you for the compliment! We may be more crazy, than incredible parents. When I get started on a crafty project I go into this whole other mode of operation. The moon becomes my companion and lunacy is the word that would best describe my decision making. (Luna= moon) Moon crazed! or Craft crazed!

I think that we try to do special things for the kids on their birthdays because our birthdays were never celebrated with much gusto. Kids appreciate gusto! (If they stop appreciating it I could get more rest.)
